(Keeping in mind that I've seen like, two of the very first episodes. On TV, no less. In a case of failed fannish osmosis I had always assumed Chuck was actually a spin off of Pushing Daisies. Woops.)

I was sitting on the balcony, uh, cutting my nails (this is what LJ is for, right, I remember that correctly?), when something buzzy, fluttery I saw from the corner of my eye made me think: Gyah, giant bug!

Upon closer examination (read: wondering if I should sic the cat on it) it turned out to be a hummingbird, though. Buzzing around, sucking on the flowers. Hummingbird. I live in southern Germany, people, did I miss something?

If so, does this influence your reactions to future episode? How is it different from your average slash goggles? (If you wanna throw in a bonus definition of slash goggles, feel totally free! *g*)

Or, to take this thing in the other direction, is there a point where you wouldn't buy a first time fic between two characters? (e.g. ...uh, S9 Jack/Daniel) I guess this is less of an issue if you have few seasons?
